Deployment beats demo
Model capability is a tailwind, not a business. The work is in the last mile: data pipelines that don't break, users who keep coming back, institutions that renew.
Research depth without execution produces papers. Execution without research depth produces churn. We built EmpowerGlobal Tech AI to hold both.
Over the past 25 years, Dr. Deepak Garg has built academic institutions, led national AI initiatives, and chaired IEEE and ABET bodies. His most recent initiative, LeadingIndia.AI, has certified over 138,000 learners across 939 institutions, and earned backing from the Royal Academy of Engineering UK, AICTE, NVIDIA, and AWS.
Over the same period, Manuj Gupta has been shipping. Engineering program delivery, R&D leadership, production-grade agentic workflows. The kind of work where the gap between a system that looks impressive and a system that runs in production is the entire job.
EmpowerGlobal Tech AI is the structure that lets both modes compound. Research access and institutional credibility from one side. Delivery discipline and operational leverage from the other. Each new venture starts with both, from day one.
Most AI holding structures in India today are either pure investment vehicles or accelerators that take small equity for short programs. Neither is what we are.
Each venture inside EmpowerGlobal Tech AI sits under the group umbrella but runs as its own operating business. It has its own market, its own P&L, its own team, and its own path to standing on its own. What it shares with the group: institutional networks, academic advisory access, delivery playbooks, hiring benches, shared operating infrastructure, and a founder team that has actually run businesses, not just invested in them.
The test we apply to any new venture: can we still be operating it, at scale, five years from now? If the answer is no, we don't start it.
Model capability is a tailwind, not a business. The work is in the last mile: data pipelines that don't break, users who keep coming back, institutions that renew.
In emerging markets, distribution through universities, government bodies, and large employers compounds faster than pure D2C. We lean into it.
Every venture is designed to operate across jurisdictions. Our first venture was backed internationally before it was a year old. That is the baseline.
LeadingIndia.AI is our first venture and the template. Over the next phase, we will add two to three more ventures across adjacent and complementary AI problem spaces, each built to the same bar: a real structural problem, academic and institutional access, a clear operating model, and a path to durable revenue.
If you are a founder or research group building in AI and looking for a venture partner rather than a passive investor, we'd like to hear from you.
